Capsule

Advanced Audio’s AK67 capsule is a very accurate 35mm capsule with 6-micron German mylar diaphragms. Its frequency response matches within 2 dB the response of the K47 capsule used in the K67 tube and U87 microphones.

Circuit

The CM67se features an upgraded 6072a circuit that provides a lower output impedance with slightly more headroom than the circuit used in the original U67. In addition, it provides a faster transient response when driving our BV8 output transformer, which is wound to the original specs. The BV8 will deliver +18dBm with less than 1% distortion and with a flat response down to 20Hz.

Don’t go breaking your piggy bank, there is a lot of stuff out there that does the job beautifully, this thing is an unbelievable sounding mic Elliot Randall, London.

  2. Butch Walker

I´ve been using the sh*t out of the 67se! I plan on keeping it in the booth and always running. I have been using it on BG vocal and acoustic guitar too. Love it. I need another one!!! Butch Walker, LA

  3. Ross Cullum

This mic is incredibly successful for recording female vocals, it has a great sound and is well balanced frequency wise. We have recorded two separate female artist recently and are super happy with the basic sound when matched through the right pre. The most impressive aspect for me is that it has such a controlled top end and is forgiving of singers who don’t have perfect dynamic control of sibilance. It’s warm but detailed. You feel like you don’t have to work so hard at mix stage, at the same time it eq s really smoothly If you need to push it. It’s definitely my first choice for vocals and i have had great results using it as a percussion overhead, it’s easy to use because it just sounds good as soon as you open it up and just gets better when you move it to the right spot. Suppose my overall comment is that you can relax when you use it- it’s going to work. I have recommended it to all the studios I can as I travel. Ross Cullum, London

  4. Robbie Nelson

I’ve been using the CM12se as my main drum mono drum overhead on pretty much everything I’ve done since we got it and I also used the CM67se on Bryan Ferry for part of a live sesssion and it sounded amazing. I’m pleased to say I’m still loving both mic’s. Robbie Nelson, RAK Studios, London

  5. Antonio Escobar

Mic received, tested and loved. Best mic I’ve ever used (and I’ve been recording in Abbey Road). Thanks!
