I sent my already good Avantone CV-12 to Advanced Audio Europe to install this mod and got a wordclass microphone back! My CV-12 already had a lot in its sound that I liked. This mod improved resolution and clarity a lot!!! My recordings sound much closer and more real. While mixing I mentioned there’s no need for surgical EQ anymore because all of my nasty peaks are gone. Some hi boost at busy song parts is enough. Some of the compression work is done by the mic itself depending on the distance during the recordings in a good way. I have no pain with sibilance anymore although the mic picks up a breathy airy tone. An important property of my modded CV-12 is, ist sounds best with a bit more distance compared to before. The described advantages can be capured best with 30+cm with vocals. AND: the service is probably the best you can expect. I was informed about every step and I haven‘t been afraid about my mic for a second. Thank you very much!
